Top 5 Things to do in Branson that Won’t Cost a Thing

Looking to travel to Branson, Missouri in 2018? It’s no secret that Branson hosts a wide range of shows and attractions, but for penny-pinching patrons and thrifty thespians here’s a list of 10 things to do in Branson that won’t cost you a thing.

5. Dewey Short Visitor Center

Opened in 2012 and dubbed the “crown jewel” of Table Rock Lake, visitors can interact with a virtual map of the lake, view murals from local artists, or snap a few pictures of the replica Ozark bluff. The visitor center hosts many interactive exhibits,  a Native American artifact exhibit, and a cut-away model detailing the workings of the nearby hydroelectric dam.

4. Table Rock State Park

Take in a scenic view as you cross the dam to Table Rock State Park’s Chinquapin Trail. It’s a mile-plus hike through four curving trails in the beautiful Ozark woodlands, highlighted by peaceful views of local flora. There’s also a covered barbecue pit for to host your own lunch, a recreation park for the kids, sites for lakeside camping, and sand volleyball courts.

3. Wine Tours

Always fun and always free, visit Curling Vine Winery to learn all about Missouri’s surprising winemaking history. Friendly guides will tour you around the winery, teaching you a bit about the winemaking process while making sure everyone is having a good time. Free wine and juice samples make for a family friendly affair.

2. Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery Conservation Center

Yet another location overlooking more than 800 miles of shoreline, is Table Rock’s Fish Hatchery. Take a guided tour through this freshwater aquarium that produces more than a million Rainbow and Brown trout per year. You don’t even need to go to Ripley’s for a “believe it or not” this year, because the conservation center even has a live two-headed snake on display.

1. The Branson Landing

A large outdoor shopping and dining center along a boardwalk overlooking beautiful Lake Taneycomo, the Branson Landing is where even the locals go for a good time, now, with more to do than ever. New for this year- Branson’s newest arcade, escape rooms, and indoor bowling. Not to mention, this spot hosts most of Branson’s best dining options. From here, you can even hop your own, complimentary, old-fashioned trolley and head on up to Historic Downtown Branson’s newly beautified shopping square.
